Thank you so much for your help throughout our wedding day, and the process leading up to it. We had such an amazing day, and were absolutely in love with the venue, as were many of our guests! We had so many comments on how beautiful the place was, with several people saying it was genuinely the nicest venue they have attended a wedding at. Even though we first visited the barn in winter, we immediately knew it was the one for us. And then seeing it in it's full summer glory is amazing - you must put so much hard work into keeping all of those flowers looking so beautiful.

Well, where do I start. Words cannot describe how perfect our wedding day was. Initially we wanted to go away and have our wedding quietly but as soon as we visited Stockbridge Barn, we fell in love with it. 

It is a beautiful, magical place, with lots and lots of space. The photographer was very happy with all the perfect opportunities to take wonderful pictures. It has a natural beauty and doesn't need dressing up to appreciate this. 

We had so many compliments from the guests many saying it was the best wedding they had been to!

Cherry was amazing from the start and answered my many, many questions promptly and patiently. She was helpful and nothing was too much trouble. 

We highly recommend Stockbridge Barn as a wedding /reception venue. We also used the accomodation on site which was perfect for us.

If you are looking for that ‘one of a kind venue’, this is absolutely it.

There are no words to describe how beautiful a venue Stockbridge farm Barn is for anyone wanting to get married. An Idyllic setting and filled with character and authenticity.

We had our wedding here, after being let down by a previous venue; and on reflection, I think they did us a favour, as we would never have stumbled across this gem in the middle of nowhere. With the perfect backdrop, beautiful weather, a stunning Grade II listed barn, fairy lights everywhere, amazing company, this will forever be a wedding to remember, by both ourselves and our guests.

In the evenings, we had BB’Q’s at the Shepherds Huts with our friends and this just created a perfect rendezvous area where we all met and celebrated before and after the big day!

 

Cherry, the owner of the venue, could not have done more for us and our guests to make it the best day. Nothing was too much trouble for Cherry and she made sure that everyone felt welcomes, at home and happy during our stay.

We have decided that we will be going back every year on our anniversary to relive the beautiful moments we shared on our special day. I can’t thank Cherry enough for letting us use the barn.

Totally Awesome!

We held our wedding reception here at the end of October and it was fantastic! 150 people and the best party we could have imagined. The barn was really atmospheric and looked stunning without having to spend a fortune on decorations. All the guests thought it was amazing and totally memorable. Cherry was incredibly helpful and

Probably one of the most stunning wedding venues in the south west!

This is an absolutely stunning barn! The pictures don’t do it justice! It really does need to be seen in real life for you to truly appreciate its true beauty especially at night when the barn is lit up!
All the guests were amazed by the barn and the up lighters really help set the mood for a truly great atmosphere!
The weather was terrible on the day which meant that most of our wedding photos had to be taken inside instead of outside the church. The barn lent itself beautifully as the backdrop and photos look great!
Cherry the owner is always on hand to offer as much or as little help as you require and we simply can’t recommend this venue enough!

A truly spectacular setting for a wedding reception.

Idyllic Venue!

The barn itself is amazing and set in a beautiful area of Dorset countryside but close enough to Sherborne with its main line station, taxi firms and hotels to be very convenient for guests. Cherry (the owner) is very helpful from the outset. All of our guests commented on how amazing and intimate the venue was. The caterers also love it as it is easy to work in.

A unique and one off venue for a unique and one off event!

My husband and I were married at the Abbey in Sherborne and had our reception at Stockbridge Farm Barn. From the word go, the owner, Cherry, was totally on hand, helpful and nothing seemed to phase her or was too much. We adored the venue as it is so unique and just lent itself to our theme totally and the guests were blown away with the venue once it was decorated and ready to go. The service was amazing and we had some great caterers who worked well in the designated kitchen spot. Stunning Venue in a country setting - a one off!

The Barn at Stockbridge is an amazing venue which impressed many of our wedding weary guests. Cherry Willoughby (the owner) is incredibly helpful and patient! Our wedding went so smoothly and most of our thank you letters commented on the uniqueness and "wow" factor of our venue. It is in a peaceful and beautiful setting and you don't feel as though you are in a rented venue but could be at home. Also, there are plenty of lovely places to stay nearby and an excellent taxi service despite it's rurality. We couldn't have hoped for better!

Thank you for a wonderful day back in mid-April. We so enjoyed our wedding day at the barn. We cannot recommend using Stockbridge Farm Barn highly enough! We used it as the venue for our wedding reception which took the form of a sit down Champagne afternoon tea for 180 and a high roast and dancing into the evening. Everything went fantastically well; the barn is stunningly beautiful and really set the scene for the country wedding that we wanted. Stockbridge Barn offered us great flexibility as we could choose our own suppliers rather than being tied to the ones chosen by the venue, as this was the case in many other places we looked at.

Apart from its visual treats Stockbridge Farm Barn wedding venue has some unique features worth highlighting. The first, and probably most important of those is the owner Cherry Willoughby. We have never met a venue owner so very accommodating. She is on-site yet rarely seen, generous with her time and her property. In the past we have described her as one of the most professional and lovely people we have ever met!

Numbers wise the barn can accommodate between 50 and 180 wedding guests. With a little creativity in the layout it never feels too big or small.

​Stockbridge Farm Barn wedding venue is a blank canvas for brides and grooms. We have seen it fit in beautifully with a myriad of different themes and colour schemes. Weather permitting you can have an indoor or outdoor ceremony. The interior is yours to dress as you would like, adding to the personal feel of the weddings held there.

We got married at Stockbridge Farm Barn in May 2018. Our wedding day was everything we hoped it would be, and more. We fell in love with Stockbridge Barn the moment we saw it - it simply sells itself and it was the perfect back drop to the wedding day we had imagined when we started to plan.

Cherry is a pleasure to work with, very helpful and always on hand for any questions.

The beauty of the venue is we could do whatever we wanted to make our wedding as personal as we wanted it to be.

We used Crab Apple catering for our day food which was a posh bbq served to our guests on sharing platters and chocolate brownie and ice cream for pudding!

We had Flamin Grate Pizza doing our evening food which went down a storm with our guests.

Our rustic wild flowers were by Ali from Wild Farm Flowers.

We danced the night away to the Brightside Band who were fantastic.

We were blessed with beautiful warm sunny weather which meant the outside space was perfect for our guests to sit and relax with a glass of bubbly.

The venue creates a relaxed and intimate atmosphere where you can enjoy every moment of your wedding day with your family and friends.

When viewing Lower Stockbridge Farm as a potential venue for our wedding we immediately fell in love with it as soon as we stepped inside, it was perfect for the type of laid back style wedding that we wanted. I’d always wanted to get married outside and the barn lends itself to being able to do this. Looking around I knew I would have to organise pretty much everything including toilets, I found the website very useful in finding recommended providers, in fact, that is where we found our caterers, The Crab & Apple (who were fantastic!).

 

Cherry’s communication was superb and she was able to answer every query I had promptly, I found the information packs very useful. For photographs I found it lovely that we could make use of the house gardens, which was great for the group shots. Cherry was on hand during our wedding should we have needed her and was there at the end to offer any guidance.

Inside the barn there are a lot of existing nails and places to hang signs and bunting which was very useful when decorating the barn.

 

Clearing up the next day could not have been easier as Cherry had boxed up all our wedding props, glasses and belongings and put them to all one side, so it was just a matter of loading up the vans, which was fantastic.

 

If you are looking for a laid back, country style wedding then I would highly recommend Lower Stockbridge Farm, it made my Wedding everything I had dreamt it to be.

The Barn was just perfect. Cherry was brilliantly organised and calm with heaps of helpful suggestions in the run up and nothing was too much trouble. We had the most amazing day, the Barn meant we could have all our friends and family with us for both the Ceremony and evening celebrations and so many of our guests commented on what a beautiful space it was. It looked so magical lit up with fairy lights and the whole setting was brilliant. Stockbridge Barn is a very special place and we would, without hesitation, recommend this to anyone wanting to marry in the Sherborne area. 

We spent a great deal of time looking at venues all over Dorset; we were interested in a rustic country wedding. When we saw Stockbridge, we knew we had found the perfect place; it has an authentic, rustic charm with enormous character, but also huge space, flexibility and a lovely surrounding area. The real clincher for us however, was the owner, Cherry. Her approach was professional, but with a light touch - she was very happy for us decide how we were going to do things, but was always there to help if we needed it. Come the day, the support she gave us was excellent throughout. in addition, her recommended bar man, Andy Langland is a must hire - again, another individual who is effortlessly professional and an enormous addition to the day; taking a lot of stress out of finding, sourcing and preparing the drinks. 
We have exceptionally happy memories of our day at Stockbridge, which will last a life time.

For us, the barn was the most perfect setting for our wedding reception and all our guests were blown away by how beautiful it was.  We particularly appreciated you letting us do our own thing - in being able to stock the bar ourselves and not have a caterer, we saved a fortune and managed to have the wedding just as we wanted.  Thank you also for recommending Beth Hiscock to run everything on the day - she was *brilliant* and we were so pleased with everything she did - not having one caterer was a bit risky, but she ran everything just as I'd requested without batting an eyelid.  You couldn't have been more helpful and we really appreciate everything you did to give us the best day of our lives!

The venue is magical!  It manages to mix both the rustic and the comfortable, it is light without losing any of its atmosphere.  Everyone was delighted with how beautiful it was, and Cherry allows you to put as much of your own personal stamp on it as you like.  My daughter fell in love with it as her wedding venue as soon as she saw it, and on the day I could see why.  We spent a day decorating it, and by morning any mess we had inadvertently made was tidied by Cherry.  The drive, the front seating area, the barn and the yard - all immaculate.  And after the wonderful day, we returned to collect our personal effects to find that the barn was once more clean and tidy and we didn’t have to do any of the messy work ourselves.  Cherry is a lovely lady, very kind, she really couldn't have been more helpful.  I would recommend the venue to anyone, and everyone, and I do!  Thank you so much.

Cherry and her team are incredibly polite, helpful and very quick to respond to all communications. They always went the extra mile which made organising the wedding so much easier.
The venue itself is beautiful, and it comes with so much that you don't need to hire in much. What we did have to hire in Cherry produced some very good recommendations for us and everything went flawlessly on the day.

We were lucky enough to play for a wedding at Stockbridge Farm Barn. The barn has a lovely rustic feel with big wooden exposed beams. The farm is set away from neighbours so having the band play wasn't an issue in terms of sound levels. The grounds were all well-kept and the staff were helpful. Lots of parking for guests and easy access for the band to the stage/performance area.
